Options for natural swimming pools
When you are considering all of the options you have when it comes to placing a natural pool in your yard, how do you begin? How do you choose all of the features that make a design an exceptional centerpiece for your yard? Luckily, there are experts at designing natural pools to make the design in your back yard unique and beautiful and different than any other pool out in the market. Here are some aspects that you can consider.
The shape and size of the pool. The size of the pool is determined by the size of your yard and the zoning requirements for property line spacing. But once that is all settled, then you can work with shaping your pool so it fits within the boundaries legally so it has a custom finished look to it. Rectangles, squares and circles are nice, but if you can manage to have contoured lines that are egg shaped, paisley shaped, ovals or even custom designs to fit your yard, then it is even nicer to look at and swim in.
The vegetation. The plant life that is planted within the natural pool can also set it apart from other pools. The plants used need to fit in to your USDA hardiness zone, but there are lots of options. Between pond plants, flowering plants and greenery, there are dozens of plants that can be chosen to go in and around your natural pool. Choose flowering plants that blend in with the rest of your landscaping or can add a focal point to the backyard. The blend of plants needs to work in the pool to keep the balance of nature intact so that the pool stays clean for all of the swimmers.
Features around the pool. Pool contains water naturally, so combining other elements such as fire can make for a stunning look. Plan a natural stone fire pit near the pool so that it can heat swimmers up on a cool night would make for a perfect blend of earth elements. A pool designer can also work in other water features to the pool including fountains, sculptures that bubble water and water falls that cascade over plants, rocks or other stone features. The design is the half of the fun of having a natural pool, the other part is not having dry, red and irritated eyes and skin when you get out of that pool!
